High View Park Historic Preservation

Join Us for a Fun Day Learning More About the Neighborhood Where You Live!

This is the first of a series of events to engage our community and prepare for the effort to achieve the historic designation of our neighborhood!

The John M. Langston Citizens Association’s Historic Preservation Committee has been awarded a $25,000 grant from Arlington County, Historic Preservation to achieve designation of the Hall’s Hill-High View Park Community in the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places.

  • Segregation Wall – 17th and Culpeper Streets
  • Langston School – 2121 N Culpeper Street
  • Fire Station 8 – Blue House on N. Culpeper behind the construction
  • Calloway Church – 5000 Langston Boulevard
  • Mt. Salvation Baptist Church – 1961 N. Culpeper St
  • Welcoming Area – Langston Boulevard and Cameron Street

Tour Guides will begin presentations at 12:00, 12:20, 12:40, 1:00, 1:20 and 1:40p. 

You can start the tour at any stop and move to the next at your own pace.

The Scavenger Hunt will begin at 2 PM on the Playground at 1945 N. Dinwiddie Street.

And at 3:30 PM the Arlington Art Truck will bring “Fences into Benches,” to the playground on Dinwiddie street in our neighborhood.

While we are making art, we will enjoy music with a DJ!
